Students will also investigate the ancient ritual of pitching the tent, an activity Dr. Stymie has devoted considerable time to mastering.

After decades of rigorous fieldwork, his conclusion remains:

“I’ve spent my life pitching the tent.”

Advanced Campology students eventually discover that successful camping requires equal parts preparation, improvisation, questionable judgment, and the ability to confidently say “We’re fine” while staring at storm clouds rolling over the mountain.

Possible side effects include smelling permanently like campfire smoke, purchasing equipment you absolutely do not need, developing strong opinions about coolers, drinking coffee from metal cups, and sitting motionless around a fire for three hours while insisting you are “doing something.”
