Golfology 101 explores the questionable science behind grip pressure, swing plane, tempo, distance control, course management, putting under pressure, and the mysterious physical force that causes a perfectly struck golf ball to immediately locate the nearest tree, bunker, or body of water.

Special attention is devoted to the short game, an area where Dr. Stymie’s research has produced one particularly important observation:

“Most students struggle with their short game.”

Under laboratory conditions, students quickly discover that lower scores require patience, practice, mental discipline, and the ability to forget the previous shot before it ruins the next six.

Possible side effects of advanced Golfology include owning fourteen clubs while blaming all fourteen, buying equipment to fix problems caused entirely by technique, measuring putts from every conceivable angle, yelling “FORE!” with increasing frequency, and believing one new driver could finally unlock your true athletic potential.
